Genesis

Beauty is eternity gazing at itself in a mirror.
Khalil Gibran

The new moon lies in the arms of the old
Suspended beneath the canopy of night
The shadows
slung low like hammocks
Swing on a willing wind that quills
A necrotic star's burst
into a glistering cat's eye nebulae

"So let it be written, so let it be done..."
Said the Father to the Sun,

Forming a spiraling lullabye
In Twilight's Lane
and
Suddenly
Our world is born again.

You're Adam
I'm Madam
But you can call me Eve

And we'll wrap
Ourselves sweetly
in those sticky fig leaves

I'll gnaw on your rib
Needily
Greedily
Knowing with forethought
All the biblical wonders
We have yet to relive

My thighs part
Like the Nile
To receive your Moses
And fulfill every mandate
In the tableau of your command

Until we tire
Of the one God
And decide
To play our Exodus
in the seas of  Ulysses instead

Then Cupid callously pierces my heart
With the light of your Conquistador eyes
My siren calls are muted for now
Your lips incarnate the fiery promise
In Knossos' iridescent Agate surprise

Your breath...
The hallowed air
that sustains my life
Inundated with its salt kiss
I sink in...
Your touch
Wedding me
Making me Fate's wife

 Los Aguascalientes
That once baptized
Ponce de Leon
Seduce me to a greater beyond

Our glass of sea shatters
The waves purr and pounce on me
Ferociously
Their spills of silver
slicing our memory and
I become the shock of Titian's Venus
In the glare of a foamless reality
Glory scatters
As the wind gusts & swears like a sailor
Capsized in the ark of old
My diaspora, an exile self-imposed

Then the sky clears...
Miraculously

 Blossoming into sequined sequencings
Their sparkly ticklings  pulsating
with the spin of our opulent orb
A vibrant luster
Saturates the never-ebbing flow
In the purity of
Your beauty eternal
And saved by the net of your trust
Once again I am made whole...

The stars are mesmers, you know...
They hypnotize us and have us do their bidding...
But I'll gladly dissolve
The iron in my will
To savor the forever of Eden's flavor
In the skin of your fleshy apple.
